Hello listeners! Today we have a number of public service announcements. The Sheriff's Secret Police announces their upcoming Secret Underground Ball. The mandatory donation for a ticket is $30, and each resident is required to purchase one. Please leave the money in an empty peanut butter jar under the tree in your yard, and a Secret Cadet will be around to collect it. The ball should be lots of fun! The Faceless Old Woman Who Lives in Your Home wishes you wouldn't microwave leftover fish for dinner. You wouldn't do that in the office, so why would you do it in your kitchen? The City Council would like to remind you that the Dog Park is not open for residents and their dogs to use. Do not make eye contact with the shadowy figures you might see in the Dog Park. Carlos informs me they are Scientists, doing Important Scientific Studies, and direct eye contact is interpreted as a challenge to their expertise.
Listeners, we have a new feature today, the Community Poetry Corner! Somewhat unsurprisingly, our first poem is called...
The Weather
We stopped for peaches
At a little roadside stand
Album nummer 6 dat kan er maar eentje zijn
He T, Dat kan alleen maar braintje zijn, op mijn manier
If today's become tomorrow
Or if it's all just gone to hell
Get stomped like a snake
Lie down in the dirt
Brother you've been sluggin whiskey
Fashioned all your crosses
The old church down the street
Concrete beneath my feet
She knows a thing or two about me
She didn’t learn in passing
Burn holes in the Moleskine
Bout it, Been friends with a pen, gave trust to the page
And black waves are curling and pounding
Down onto your head somewhere in the Atlantic
