Metsähallituksen luontopalvelujen ylläpitämä Pielpavuonon laavu on erinomainen taukopaikka kesä- tai talviretkeilijälle. Kodalla on laituri, johon voi rantautua veneellä. Kodassa on tulisija.
Inarijärven veneristeilyllä on etukäteen sopimalla mahdollista joko jäädä laavulla kyydistä tai hypätä veneen kyytiin. Laavulta lähtee 2,4 km mittainen polku Pielpajärven erämaakirkolle. Kirkolta puolestaan lähtee noin 5 km mittainen polku kohti Inaria. Polun päästä parkkipaikalta on vielä noin 2 km matka Ylä-Lapin luontokeskus Siidalle.
Midnight Sun Geocaching -megaeventin yhteydessä järjestettiin risteily Inarijärvellä sekä miitti täällä laavulla. Samassa yhteydessä piilotettiin tämä kätkö.
Kätköä huollettiin ja siirrettiin talvilöydettävään paikkaan Tebarin toimesta 14.6.19
Pielpavuono is a fjord in western Lake Inari. At the north end of the fjord there is a wooden Lapp pole tent with a fireplace inside. You can also arrive here by boat. Also the cruise ship to Lake Inari often stops at Pielpavuono.
From here a 2.4-km marked trail leads to the Pielpajärvi Wilderness Church. If you continue along the trail from the church toward Inari, it is about 5 km to the beginning of the trail and a further 2 km to the Northern Lapland Nature Centre Siida.
During the Midnight Sun Geocaching Mega-event 2017 a cruise on Lake Inari was arranged and an event cache was here at Pielpavuono on June 16th.
