Gelerts Farm Halt railway station opened in 1988. It is a simple platform alongside the main shed at Gelert's Farm Works. Before becoming a railway station and sidings the site was a working farm. The barns were converted into engine and carriage sheds and the stone buildings into workshops.
The station is only one of three on this short line, sandwiched between Porthmadog and Pen-y-Mount. Much more information on the station and operator can be found by searching for "Gelert's Farm Works"
The cache is located on a public footpath by the Main Line. If you come from Porthmadog there is no need to cross the line or walk on the railway. Please look out for trains at all times if you do cross the line.
Parking: The cache is at the end of a track. Whilst you can park by the cache, I don't recommend that you do so - it's difficult to turn round. You can park on Madoc Street.
