Chale Green is an interesting village that was known as Stroudgreen. There is a Stroud Green Farm north of Chale Green. By 1870, around Chale Green was a wheelwright, carpenter, chimney sweep business, The New Inn tavern, a blacksmith, a grocer and a shoemaker. Sprake's Brewery was founded in Chale Green in 1833. A sawpit existed in the early 20th century in Chale Green. My Mother-in-Law told the story that when she had been for afternoon tea here in the early 20th Century they were presented with a cake that was so hard that her brother took it out on the green and played football with it. No problem with cakes served nearby now.

On the bridge, the number of planks on the bridge = AB
Number of rails on both sides = C
Number of posts on one side = D
Number of rails on one side = E
Cache can be found at: N 50 (B-A)C. (A+D)EC W 001 (C-D)(D+E).B(C/2)(C+E)
At the cache location there is quite an interesting view into the Medina - small stream, but deep down.
