BAPTIST, SOUTHWELL
Southwell Baptist church originally started life in 1808 when it was built as the Southwell Parish Workhouse. In 1839 members of the Baptist church bought the building from the Poor Law Guardians for £1460. This included a sum to convert the workhouse to a chapel.
Before 1839 the Baptist community had met for services in a barn on Westhorpe.
Sadly, I have been unable to find any further information on the church. If you know of any, I would be delighted to hear from you.
