The 518 area code is almost full which covers 1200 zip codes from the Canadian border to the southern Greene and Columbia county line. Starting on August 19, 2017 it will be mandatory to dial 10 digits for all local calls. That's right, you must dial 518 xxx-xxxx for a local call. 3 digit dialing will stay the same, ie 911,611. On September 19, 2017 an "overlay" of the 838 phones numbers will start to be added for new subscribers.
So to find this cache you need to do a little searching for some old office codes in the 518 area code.
