A trail of 11 caches, including a bonus cache taking you on an oval shaped route of just about 2.25 miles in length to the Prince Hall Rocks. This is a more traditional Dartmoor Dave series, which although suitable for children has not been specifically designed as family friendly like the more recent series.
The series is primarily on small paths but some of it can be very wet after heavy rain or during the winter months. Some directions have been included with waypoints where necessary. These directions assume that you are doing the caches in ascending order.
Every cache has a bonus number, but most of these are duplicated.
The first cache is a multi and is NOT at the given coordinates
The coordinates are for the gate by the road and to find the cache you will need to count some very simple parts of the gates.
- How many horizontal bars are there on the gate = X
- How many vertical bars are there on the gate NOT including those at either end = Y
- How many diagonal bars are there on the gate = Z
The cache can be found at N 50° 33.1(X+Y)(Y*Z*2) W 003° 58.4(X+Z)(Y-Z)
Caches placed with the kind permission of the Dartmoor National Park Authority.
