Location: rest stop along I-70. Easy access, short hike up a gravel trail to cache site.
EASTBOUND NOTE!!!: If you are EASTBOUND, use the CROSSOVER ROAD in the center of the rest area to park on the WESTBOUND side. The trail head is at the west end of the westbound picnic area. DO NOT attempt to park on the eastbound parking to find this cache. USE THE TRAIL, use the crossover road to park ONLY on the westbound side.
This cache is along America's east-west I-70 corridor through Kansas. It is located in a Rest Stop that has bathroom and picnic facilities, as well as a small hiking trail. The trailhead to the cache is located near the picnic parking area near the west end of the westbound side, along the crossover road between the eastbound and westbound sides. The view from near the cache site includes the scenic Flint Hills to the south & west; the fertile Kaw River valley to the north; and Buffalo Mound, a local landmark, to the east. A scenic, quick stop, while traveling America's Heartland.
The cache is a sealed, metal, military surplus ammunition box. It had various small trinkets, travel bugs, a logbook, pens & pencils, etc.
