Ryoma Echizen, the Prince of Tennis 網球王子, who came back from the United States enters the prestigious school of tennis "Seishun Academy middle division". With his exceptional great skill, he was recruited to the tennis club even his attitude is really bad. That started his way to the national championship.
There was a story behind that Ryoma's father was once a professional tennis player and beat all players in USA. Suddenly, he withdrawn and life in a temple in Japan. Ryoma's father trained him harshly and tennis is never the favourite of Ryoma. Living under the shadow of his father, the only goal for Ryoma to play tennis was to beat his father.
However, the experience learned, and the interaction with team members and competitors, Ryoma gradually change his goal -- the National Championship.
