Bring your CITO gloves and pack your picnic lunch in a backpack! It's time to explore a new park! Coordinates are for the parking area where we will provide trash bags.
We will meet just off the School Street parking area at 10:00am and CITO our way to the picnic area. Bow Street Market, in sight of the parking area, offers a To Go Menu that can be ordered online for your picnic enjoyment. This is a small park with two geocaches, a picnic area, and a restroom. Bring the geokids and geodogs for a morning of fresh air and CITO fun! We will end this event at 11:30, at the picnic area, with a group photo and lunch. There will be a run to L.L. Bean, after the event, to dispose of the trash we collect. From http://freeportconservationtrust.org/areas/freeport-center-trails/ Donated to the Town by L.L. Bean, Leon Gorman Park has a short (<.5 mile) loop trail, picnic tables, a covered picnic pavilion, a grassy area, and a small ice skating area. It is a lovely place for a quick stroll or picnic lunch and is within easy walking distance of Main Street. Some portions of the trail are very steep—strollers and bikes are not recommended. Dogs must be on a leash and pet waste must be collected and carried out.
