La ligne a été ouverte le 15 Octobre, 1899 et géré par la compagnie de chemin de fer Paris-Orléans. De Hautefort était le train pour Coubjours Badefols-et après un tunnel plus au sud, à Villac. Puis, à travers la vallée de l'Elle sur un chemin avec deux tunnels et trois grand viaducs à Terrasson Lavilledieu où il a été connecté à la ligne Périgueux-Brive.
The line was opened on October 15, 1899 and managed by the railway company Paris-Orleans. From Hautefort the train went to Coubjours -Badefols and after a tunnel further south, it arrived in Villac. Then, through the valley of the Elle over a track with three tunnels and 2 large viaducts to Terrasson Lavilledieu where it was connected to the line Périgueux-Brive.
De lijn werd geopend op 15 oktober 1899 en beheerd door de spoorweg-maatschappij Paris-Orléans. Vanaf Hautefort ging de trein op weg naar Coubjours-Badefols en na een tunnel verder in zuidelijke richting, door een uitloper van het departement Corrèze, naar Villac. Vervolgens door de vallei van de Elle over een tracé met twee grote viaducten en drie tunnels naar Terrasson Lavilledieu waar werd aangesloten op de lijn Périgueux-Brive.
