The cache is a micro in an unusual container placed across the road from the war memorial. There is parking close to GZ on the Brandon side of the A1065, but please note you will need to cross the road. (Tweezers and a pen will be required).
The memorial is in the form of a tall column situated at the edge of the village where the A134 crosses the A1065. This memorial lists those who laid down their lives during the Great War: details have been added to commemorate the fallen of WWII, and since. The panels bear the names of the fallen from the parishes of Lynford, Mundford, West Tofts and Cranwich. Names are recorded in full: there are no details of rank, Regiment or date of death.
TO THOSE FROM THE LYNFORD ESTATE WHO FELL GLORIOUSLY FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914- 1918 REST IN PEACE
(Description of memorial taken from Roll-of-honour.com) If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Just-us-Two know first at justustwo1013@gmail.com so they can keep track of the memorial numbers and names to avoid any duplication.
