The purpose of this event is to target individuals who are obsessed with geocaching. I’m talking about those of you who go out every week and grab hundreds of finds during every outing, and chase every event in an effort to turn the bubble into a smiley.
I've got a challenge for you! You have the opportunity to prove to yourself and to your friends that you're not so obsessed with geocaching and that you can resist an easy grab.
If you come here, you’ll not find anything interesting. You will not learn anything new. You will not enjoy a beautiful hike with amazing views. There is no bench here, where you could sit and talk about geocaching. There will be no program, no logbook and even no host here. It is a spot in the parking lot near the dumpsters, where, when you come here on April Fool's Day between 2:00pm - 2:30pm, you will earn a smiley. Well worth it, right?
Okay, you say, I’m no GeoAddict or SmileyChaser, but the meaning of events is obviously to meet up with like-minded individuals, share the geocaching experience, exchange TBs and coins or arrange upcoming Geoadventures. So how do we accomplish this, if this event doesn’t promise any of this? The answer is simple: By not going to this spot! Instead, you go with us to Dirigo Brewery, which is just across the parking lot, where you will find the host and perhaps a few other cachers who managed to resist the temptation to gain an easy smiley and overcome their addiction. :-) Here we can kick back, relax and have a pint of beer to enjoy this April Fool’s Day.
