Village Signs is a series of caches based on the ornate signs that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages that put them up.
Heveningham is a village and civil parish in the Suffolk Coastal district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located four miles south-west of Halesworth, in 2005 it had a population of 120. It is where Bruce Reynolds, latterly the brains behind the Great Train Robbery, was evacuated to aged eight, in 1939, during the Second World War.
Heveningham Hall is a Grade I listed building in Heveningham, Suffolk. The present house, dating from 1778–80 and incorporating work from an early 18th-century building, was designed by Sir Robert Taylor for Sir Gerald Vanneck, 2nd Baron Huntingfield. The interiors of circa 1781-4 were designed by James Wyatt. The dining room was restored after a fire in 1949 and the east wing, containing the library and drawing room, was gutted by fire in June 1984.
The hall and grounds were bought in 1994 by Foxtons-founder Jon Hunt and his wife for use as a family home. The Hunts have carried out extensive work to restore the building and return the grounds to the original Capability Brown designs.
