La cache è dedicata ad una tappa obbligata per chiunque voglia vedere Piazza dei Miracoli partendo a piedi dalla stazione Centrale. È comunque possibile raggiungere il posto in autobus o in macchina (anche se ci vuole un po' di fortuna con il parcheggio se non si vuole pagare!).
Il luogo è molto frequentato, per favore prestate attenzione.
I Bagni di Nerone sono un sito archeologico del centro di Pisa, situati presso Porta a Lucca, a poca distanza dalla piazza del Duomo. Si tratta dell'unico monumento della Pisa romana che sia ancora emergente. Si tratta degli scavi di un edificio termale romano, impropriamente detto a partire dal medioevo "di Nerone", ritenendolo parte di un suo fantomatico palazzo. I resti si trovano al di sotto del livello stradale odierno. L'impianto originale del complesso risale agli ultimi decenni del I secolo d.C. (sotto Domiziano). Ben conservato è il sudatio laconicum (locale per il bagno di aria calda), composto da una sala ottagonale absidata, con una copertura a cupoletta traforata, in parte restaurata. Sono poi visibili i resti delle mura della palestra dell'apodyterium (locale per spogliarsi) e solo due pareti del tepidarium. L'acqua arrivava dal vicino Auser (conosciuto oggi come Serchio) e tramite l'antico acquedotto romano di Caldaccoli proveniente da San Giuliano Terme. L'edificio doveva essere caratterizzato da una certa monumentalità, a giudicare dai marmi rinvenuti e da alcune sculture ritrovate, che verosimilmente lo decoravano.
Le terme furono messe in evidenza e restaurate nel XVI e XVII secolo per volere di Cosimo III. I vari scavi cominciarono nel 1881 a cura di Clemente Lupi. Successivamente nel 1938, una volta abbattute alcune case intorno, l'intera area fu recintata per salvaguardarne i resti. Infine nel 1947 furono completamente restaurate. Nel 2007 è stata sostituita la cupola di copertura a causa dei danni che gli agenti atmosferici avevano esercitato

The cache is a micro container. If you are a tourist willing to see the Tower and coming by walk from the central station, you have to pass by the Baths. You can also reach the spot by bus or by car (but it tooks some luck to park, if you don't want to pay!).
This location is often crowdy, please be careful on your search.
The Baths of Nero (Italian - Bagni di Nerone) are an archaeological site near the Porta a Lucca in Pisa, then the Roman city of Colonia Pisana. Now below street level, they are the only Roman remains still standing in the city and form a thermae complex. They were given the misnomer "of Nero" in the medieval period, when they were believed to have been part of a palace - the earliest level actually dates to the final decades of the 1st century, during the reign of Domitian. The best-preserved part of the complex is the sudatio laconicum (hot room), composed of an octagonal room with an apse, with a dome-shaped perforated roof, which has been partially restored. There are also the remains of some of the walls of the palaestra of the apodyterium (room to get undressed) and two walls from the tepidarium. Marble remains and some decorative sculptures have also been found. Its water was supplied by the nearby river Auser (now Serchio) and from the Caldaccoli Aqueduct.
They were re-discovered and restored in the 16th and 17th centuries by command of Cosimo III, excavated in 1881 by Clemente Lupi, fenced off in 1938 (after the demolition of some neighbouring houses) and finally fully restored in 1947. A covering dome was installed but this was worn out by the weather by 2007, when it was replaced.
