Geocache Description:

Village signs is a series of caches based on the ornate signs that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages that put them up (normally on the village green!).

                                                                                         Reymerston VS #1007

The sign depicts 14th century Reymerston St Peter Church, primroses – the village has been known as ‘the primrose village’, and two significant characters, both born in the early 20th century.

Jack Juby MBE (1920 – 2004) known as ‘the horse man’ and ‘the horse whisperer’, an expert on heavy horses, was born in Reymerston. His biography ‘My Life With Horses: The Story of Jack Juby MBE Master of the Heavy Horse’ ed. Alison Downes and Alan Childs is set in Norfolk. His story is told largely through Jack’s own words

‘Jack Juby had a remarkable gift and ability to work with heavy horses that was almost uncanny’

Wing Commander K.H. Wallis MBE (b. 1917) lived and flew his autogyros in Reymerston for many years.

At the village sign you will find a bench showing a year = ABCD

The cache can be found at

N52 37. (A-A)(D-A)C      E000 58.(C+A)(B-B)B

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let Smokeypugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
