Geocache Description:

A simple cache at the site of Ripple Station in Worcestershire, part of the SideTracked Series

Ripple station was opened on 16 May 1864 by the Tewkesbury & Malvern Railway which was soon absorbed by the Midland Railway, later LMS. Services ran between Ashchurch (on the Midland's main line between Birmingham and Gloucester) and Great Malvern. The main intermediate stations were Tewkesbury and Upton -on-Severn although the section of line from Upton to Malvern was closed as early as December 1952. The remainder soldiered on until it was closed to passengers on the 14th of August 1961. Freight continued until 1963.

The station house still exists and is a private dwelling.

The cache is on the roadside. Parking is available near the road junction on Bow Lane. Siting across the railway bridge for traffic is poor so please keep your eyes and ears open. Cache is a screwtop plastic tube in man-made camouflage.
