I like this church so much I have actually placed two caches here - this one and an addition to my Monmouthshire Rural Church series.
The Church
The church of St Davids is now a redundant church that has been taken on by the Friends of Friendless Churches in 1999.
What we see today is largely from the 15th century and it has been recently refurbished on the outside, whilst the inside has remained clean and simple, although there are plans to refurbish this too I understand (I have to be honest - I quite like it like it is!)
The building consists of a nave, west porch and a chancel and is constructed of stone rubble with a stone tile roof.
Of most interest is the interior though that has some rare pre-Victorian box pews, the front and frame of the original 15th century rood screen and the walls are plastered and white-washed. I fact it probably hasn't changed from the 18th century! It's normally open so pop in and take a look.
The Cache
Parking can be had in the car parking area in front of the church and the cache is a large micro in a camo bag.
