The GGA February 2017 Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 11th from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.

If you want to simply attend...

...sample several awesome chilis and select 2017's GGA Chili Commander-In-Chef, please arrive at Group Shelter #1 in Indian Springs State Park before 2 PM. Bring a hearty appetite, stories about geocaching and camping in our wonderful GA State Parks, and join us in remembering Ed 'Rebel' Handler who started this great tradition back in 2006.

If you want to want to enter the competition and show off your chili chops...

...please bring your chili ready to eat, or close to it. Contestants will need to bring a chili serving utensil. Bowls, eating utensils, cheese and saltine crackers will be provided. Electrical outlets will be provided for chili pots. If your presentation needs electricity please bring an extension cord or power bar.

Entrants are asked to check in early (theMoiety will be checking in with the Park at around 10:00 AM). Last Call Chili Competition Check In will start at 1:30 pm and end at 2:00 PM sharp.

If you plan on entering the competition, please let us know in your Will Attend. Attendees will have the opportunity to start voting at 2:15.

Entrants will also be provided with a small card to list / display any unique ingredients. Ingredients such as, but not limited to: peanuts, chocolate, shellfish, seafood, honey, MSG, etc. This is for the safety of those with specific food allergies.

We will again be having a Non-Traditional Chili Category. This will be chili's that are not traditional red. Traditional red chili is defined as any combination of meats, cooked with red chili peppers, various spices and other ingredients. Some ideas for alternative chili are white, vegetarian, verde or anything you can think of. If a contestant bringing an alternative chili would prefer to compete in the traditional category that is allowed. A traditional chili as described above many not compete in the Non-Traditional category.

4 awards will be given;
a - Best Chili Hat!
b - Best Presentation!
c - GGA Chili Commander-In-Chef - Non Traditional!
d - GGA Chili Commander-In-Chef - Traditional!

Attendees can write and submit their votes for their favorite entries in the 4 categories above - just indicate category winner and your geonick (which will not be revealed) on the slip provided and drop it in the convenient GGA Chili Cookoff ballot box.

You do not need to bring chili to attend, but, the more the merrier!

If your New Years Resolutions include Travel Bugs (launching some, moving along ones that have been in your geo-bag too long, or just finding out more about trackable items), be sure to check out the Travel Bug Corral, which is a place to swap TBs and other trackables. We will also have a display of some different kinds of trackables, and will be glad to answer questions.

There is a $5 day-use fee to enter Indian Springs State Park, unless you have a Friends of GA State Parks membership
