Geocache Description:

This cache is not places at the village sign but placed close by.

Coveney was first recorded in 1060AD, when Ely priory allowed Aethelswyth, a saxon noblewoman, to retire there in return for her property in Setchworth.

On 7th October 2001, East Cambridgeshire district council gave, from the millennium fund, enough money to restore and improve the pond with the help from East of England Development Agency, Waste Recycling Environmental and East Cambridgeshire District Council Conservation Officer.

The project was achieved with an improved pond and sitting platform.

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let Smokeypugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
