Geocache Description:

This cache is a simple offset multi, which is part of the ever popular Church Micro series started in 2007 by sad exploration, and has been placed to celebrate the 9th anniversary of this series.

St Lukes Church was completed in 1861 and consecrated in 1864. It was squeezed in between a biscuit factory on the east side and a terrace of small houses on the west in this crowded working class disctrict. The layout of the buildings and even the streets in the area has changed beyond recognition.

The building was designed by Thomas Hellyer following a competition. The design naves, aisles, apse and 'west' gallery- has some references to the Norman style. The church is built with bricks nut the exterior is of flint with stone dressings. The interior shows brick in the columns and nave but mostly plasterwork in the aisles.

Now for the cache...

At the given coordinates, you will be able to see the front of the church and the side nearest to you (along Isambard Brunel Road). You can move closer to the church if you need to be please bare in mind this is a frequently used car park so please stay safe. To find the cache, you need to gain the numbers from the following clues and substitute them into the formula below.

How many sets of double doors can you see on the front of the church? This equals A.

Take a look high up at the number of bells you can see. This equals B.

Above the central doors, is a row of windows with a large window in the middle and smaller ones either side. How many smaller windows are there? This equals C.

Down the side of the building (roadside) you will see some dormer windows, count how many there are and this equals D.

You will find the cache a short walk away at N50 47.(Cx2)D(A+D) W001 05.A(C-B)(D+B). The checksum for all fifteen digits is 55. You are looking for a Magnetic container. Good luck and happy hunting!
