The Red Dead-Nettle
Die Purpurrote Taubnessel (Lamium purpureum) ist eine Taubnesselart aus der Familie der Lippenblütler (Lamiaceae). Die Rote Taubnessel ist ein Archäophyt und ein Kulturbegleiter. Sie ist schnellwüchsig und benötigt oft nur wenige Wochen von der Keimung bis zur Samenreife. Daher sind pro Jahr 3-4 Generationen möglich.
Lamium purpureum, known as red dead-nettle, purple dead-nettle, purple archangel, or velikdenche, is a herbaceous flowering plant native to Europe and Asia. It is often found alongside Henbit Dead-nettle (Lamium amplexicaule), which is easily mistaken for it since they both have similar looking leaves and similar bright purple flowers; they can be distinguished by the stalked leaves of Red Dead-nettle on the flower stem, compared to the unstalked leaves of Henbit Dead-nettle.
