Geocache Description:

A straightforward multi cache based upon St Mary's Church which meets at the John Betjeman Centre in Wadebridge.

Pay and Display parking is available nearby - see parking coordinates.

The Church

The John Betjeman Centre is sited in the main building of the old railway station at Wadebridge, Cornwall. The last train left Wadebridge at 17.20 on the 28th January 1967. A total of £300,000 was raised from voluntary contributions in order to refurbish it and extend it's size. It took six years to complete and was accomplished in 2 phases. Firstly the old building was converted from its derelict state and opened on the 1st of April 1989. In the second phase the additional rooms were added.
St Mary's Church Centre, Wadebridge was closed for structural reasons in October 2007 and in May 2009 was demolished. Re-development of the site is under consideration. This town centre congregation meet instead in the nearby easy access, comfortable and welcoming surroundings of the John Betjeman Centre each Sunday.

The headline coordinates will take you to the front of the old railway building which is now the John Betjeman centre.

To find the cache coordinates you will need to obtain the following information:

1. At the front of the building there is a large piece of granite with three words carved in it. A = How many letters in the third word?

2. B = How many cast iron pillars support the glass canopy at the front of the centre?

3. Above the entrance door is a sign for "THE BETJEMAN CENTRE" Below that is a Telephone Number, let that =CDECF FDEBGE

The cache is about 400 metres away and car parking for a few cars is nearby.
The location is popular with cyclists and walkers especially in the summer - !!PLEASE BE STEALTHY!!

Cache is at N 50 BC.(F-D)(B+D)(A-E) W 004 (B+D)G.AGF
Checksum for the final coordinates = 63
