BARNBYGATE METHODIST, NEWARK
Barnbygate Methodist Church and the attached railings are Grade II listed, having achieved the status on 19 May 1971.
The church was built in 1845 and was the first Methodist church to be built in the town.
Inside the building at the foot of the stairwell are two roll of honour memorial boards listing the names of the members of the congregation who fought in World War I. In the middle of each board are the 12 names of the men who never returned from the war. There is also a splendid stained glass window containing the names of the 12 fallen men inside the church.
THIS IS A HIGH MUGGLE AREA SO STEALTH WILL BE NEEDED
