NORTH END METHODIST, NEWARK
North End Methodist Church was built in 1868 as an off shoot from the main Methodist church on Barnbygate to serve the 'North End' of the town.
Exactly 100 years later in 1968 the decision was made that the church was too big for requirements and was to be sold off. The original church hall was converted into the Methodist church that is still used today. The original church, now known as 'The Old Chapel' was used as a shoe warehouse before being turned into luxury apartments.
