ST LEONARD'S, NEWARK
St Leonard's Church was built in 1978 being dedicated by the Bishop of Southwell on November 5, 1978. It replaced the original St Leonard's built in 1873 which stood on Northgate and was demolished in October 1977.
The church is a dual purpose building with the Bridge Community Centre. Representatives from the church sit on the management committee of the community centre.
St Leonard's is part of the Coddington Team Parish with St Mary Magdalene, All Saints' Coddington and Christ Church.
The only surviving memorial from the old church is the war memorial which is now in the entrance hall at St Leonard's.
