Geocache Description:

This event is intended to be an introduction for anyone in the community who is interested in geocaching, wants to find out more about it, or wants to give it a try.  There's a multi-purpose facility (a Church) on site and we'll start the event at 2pm (Saturday, 10 Sep 2016) - we should wind up by 4pm.

There will be a couple of new caches created for the day of the event (and perhaps one permanent one), and a FTF coin for each - we're hoping that the FTFs will go to newbies.  Later in the afternoon, there will be an opportunity to look for existing caches further afield - if there's interest, and time permits.

Volunteers would be appreciated - to lead small groups in the hunt, to give a short testimony of their experience, or even to give a basic technical/informative presentation. A limited number of volunteer trackables will be presented.  Contact Ron&Karen if you're interested and available.  If you're checking us out - we recently moved to the Miramichi area from the Annapolis Valley and that's why the epicenter of our geocaching activity has been in NS.

There will be some prizes - door prizes, etc.  We may also spring for a limited number of trackable/collectables, but at least for this event they will be distributed among the newbies in some fashion.

A rain date may be scheduled as the event nears.

This is our first attempt at organizing an event - assistance, comments, and suggestions are welcome.

If there's enough interest and support, this may become an annual event.
