Geocache Description:

Hydropalooza is here again!!  GGA is proud to host the 2016 version at Lake Lanier in Northeast Georgia.  It will be Saturday Sept. 10, 2016 beginning at 9:30 am.

For 2016 Hydroplooza we will be gathering at Duckett Mill Park at the North end of beautiful Lake Lanier. The gathering will be at the fishing venue at Duckett Mill Park which has a boat dock right next to the parking  for those who wish to join the gathering by boat.

There are plenty of nearby lake caches for those that wish to cache in the area, and plenty of nearby island caches for the finding. We will be providing hot dogs and hamburgers also. As always donations of water, drinks, and snacks are always appreciated

Please post an "will attend" log and list how many people will be in your party. This will be very helpful in the planning of this event.

The GGA event goes from 9:30-10:00 where we will talk about GGA business and upcoming events.

After the event some local cachers have volunteered to provide water transportation to some local lake caches. We hope to make two trips out - one leaving at 10:00 and one leaving at 1:00.  If you are interested in joining some of these folks please be prepared to donate $5 for each rider to the boat captain to help pay for gas.  If you make more than one trip, please tip both times.  There will be sign up sheets at the registration table for spots on boats.  We will try and give everyone who wants to go out the opportunity to sign up first before we offer second chances.  The GGA needs more boats.  As of 8/1/16 we only have 2 boats confirmed to use for a total of 12 spots in morning and 12 in afternoon.  If you have a boat and can captain for us please contact TeamSheppard.

Also, Any children 13 and under must have and wear a life jacket to go out on the water. It is your responsibility to provide the life jacket. If your child does not have a life jacket, you and your child cannot partake in the boat trips.

Thanks to the Army Corp of Engineers for supporting this event, and supporting caching on the lake property.
