Geocache Description:

All Hallows Church , Tillington

In the 1180’s a stone church was built on this site and some of it remains today in the south aisle. . The font dates from the 12th century. Over the centuries many amendments and changes were made to the building but the ones that are most in evidence now, began with Lord Egremont’s (of Petworth House) construction of a new bell tower with its distinctive “Scot’s Crown” in 1807. He also enlarged the church by adding the north aisle and the chancel was extended between1807 and 1837. The East Window you see today was added in 1876. ---

To find this cache first you must look at the object at the posted coordinates , ( rather unusual ) , if the county by the makers name at the base of the wheel is Dorset then A = 2 , if Devon A = 3 , looking up at the tower if the weather vane is a cockerel B = 6 if an arrow B = 7 , adjacent to this object have a look on the seat and note the dates as 19CD to 19EF thankful to Reginald Nicholls now move over to the war memorial and check out the number of slabs around the base with out words on = GH

now the cache will be found hopefully atN 50 59.ABF W 000 37.(B-C)(H-G)(E+C)---
