<Rajio-Taiso>
The "Rajio-Taiso" in Japan is the name of the warm-up calisthenics programs broadcasted on the national radio and television early in the morning every day. It has been radio-casted since 1928, and is still widely practiced across the entire country.
It is said the Rajio-Taiso was originally broadcasted by the radio station WGI in Boston in 1922. When Japanese officers of Ministry of Communications visited the U.S. for the research about life-insurance business, they heard the 15-minute radio calisthenics which an insurance company sponsored in the major cities of the U.S. Having come back to Japan, they proposed the concept to Ministry of Education, and finally radio calisthenics got started in Japan in 1928.
The program in U.S. never got very popular and it faded out within a few years, but Japan's Rajio-Taiso has been pretty popular for more than 80 years since then.

Some leaders volunteer to prepare a radio at 6:30am every morning here at the published coordinates and many people come around and do both "Rajio-Taiso #1" and "Rajio-Taiso #2" with the instruction and music from the radio.

＜ラジオ体操＞
ラジオ体操は、昭和３年以来、毎朝のラジオ（とテレビ）で放送されており、今日も広く全国で行われている健康体操です。
ラジオ体操は大正11年(1922年)、ボストンのラジオ局ＷＧＩで最初に放送されたと言われています。当時、生命保険事業の調査に渡米した逓信省の職員が、ある生命保険会社の提供していた15分間のラジオの健康体操のことを聞きつけました。帰国後、彼らが文部省にこの体操のことを提案した結果、昭和３年(1928年)にラジオ体操が放送されることになりました。
アメリカ国内ではこの健康体操は盛り上がることなく数年で消えさってしまいましたが、日本のラジオ体操はそれ以来80年以上にわたり、現在でも広く行われています。
