The Fairfax County Park system has asked for a little help cleaning up on the river. Due to the nature of the clean up participants will need to utilize some type of floating craft to lend assistance.
Location: We will meet at Bealls Island to sign the log and be given directions on areas to proceed to for clean up efforts.
Time: 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm
All are welcome, but please be aware that this CITO will require some physical exertion and the weather may be hot. Make sure to bring hydration fluids and use common sense.
Bags for garbage and recycling will be provided by the park system. More details will be posted as provided by the Park.
Participants will have to either bring their own water craft or rent them from River Bend Park just west of the Island. The Park Service noted that based on past experience they have ceased donation of water craft for volunteer clean up events.
