Дендропарк був заснований 1954 року, незабаром після заснування самого лісотехнічного інституту. На території дендропарку, який займає площу 10,8 га, розташовані квітники, колекційно-навчальна ділянка, невеликий дослідницький розсадник. Крім того, на території дендропарку побудовані адміністративний і три навчальні корпуси, бібліотека, музей деревини, спортивний зал, медпункт, кафе і їдальня, гуртожиток та інші будівлі. Крім забезпечення навчального процесу, парк також служить для збереження, акліматизації та введення в культуру рідкісних, цінних або зникаючих рослин. Всього тут було інтродуковано понад 200 порід і форм дерев, чагарників. Дендропарк входить до Міжнародного союзу ботанічних садів.
Dendropark was founded in 1954 after establisying in Lviv forestry engineering institute. The territory of the Dendropark is 10,8 hectares. In it are situated flower gardens, collection and aducational plots and small research site. Besides on the territory of the park there are administrative 3 aducational buildings, library, museum of wood, gym, first-aid post, cafe, dining-hall. Except ensuring the process of aducation the park serves for preserving, acclimatization of rare, prizable and vanishing plants. About 200 spices & forms of trees and bushes were introduced here. Dendropark is a member of International union of botanic gardens.
