[NL - Nederlands] Matilo park in leiden is een archeologisch park. Onder het park bevindt zich de restanten van een romeins leger fort. Dit ligt nu nog steeds onder het park verborgen zodat het behouden blijft voor toekomstig onderzoek.
De grond onder het park is al in 1976 tot rijksmonument verklaard en het park is recentelijk aangelegd in de vorm van een romeins fort om zo toch te laten zien hoe dit waarschijnlijk eruit gezien zou hebben. Sinds 2021 is het park onderdeel van de UNESCO werelderfgoedlijst omdat het deel maakt van de romeinse Limes!
Het park heeft vele faciliteiten waaronder verschillende informatie zuilen, kustwerken, stadstuintjes, schooltuintjes, veel speeltoestellen, een aantal avontuurlijke paadjes en nu ook een eigen multi cache!
Aan het oplossen van de cache puzzel zit een romeins tintje dat wel duidelijk zal worden tijdens het cachen.
De gebiedbeheerder heeft goedkeuring gegeven voor het plaatsen en zoeken van deze cache met de voorwaarde:
ER HOEFT EN MAG NIET GEGRAVEN TE WORDEN VOOR DE CACHE!!!!
- Honden zijn niet toegestaan alle lokaties in het park - laat je hond thuis!
- De cache kan op rustig tempo binnen een uur opgelost worden
- Vanaf parkeerplaats, cache en weer terug is ong 2 km
- Als het heeft geregend, neem laarzen of bergschoenen mee, het is hier en daar wat drassig.
- Er zijn hier en daar wat brandnetels.
- Het park wordt soms gebruikt voor evenementen - het kan dan zijn dat sommige stukjes van het park niet toegangkelijk zijn. De cache is wel toegangkelijk en met een beetje puzzelwerk kan je ook dan de puzzel oplossen.
- In de cache box passen alleen swappables van een kleine platte vorm, doorsnee < 50 mm
- Bij de cache hou rekening met het gebruik van het gebied en ga respectvol om met het gebied!

[EN - English] Matilo park is an archeological park and is a national monument since 1975. The ground under the park still contains the remnants of a roman fort - Castellum Matilo. This will remain undisturbed to allow for future archeolgical studies. In 2021 the Roman Limes was added to the world heritage list of UNESCO and as such this park is part of that!
The park has numerous facilities such as artworks, city gardens, school gardens, playgrounds and now also a multi cache!
To solve the puzzle you will need a pen / paper and there will be a roman tint to the solution which you should be able to discover as you go along.
The ground managers have kindly agreed to the placement of the cache with the following condition:
YOU MAY NOT AND NEED NOT DIG FOR THE CACHE!!!!
- Leave your dog @home as it is not allowed in all locations in this park.
- You'll need about 1 hour to complete the cache at a leisurely pace
- Total round trip distance carpark, cache to carpark is about 2 km
- If its been rainy & wet - some parts of the park may be a bit boggy - suitable footwear is advised.
- At some locations there is stinging nettle in the park - please do take care
- The park is sometimes used for events. The cache will be accessible and with a bit of puzzling you should be able to solve for the final cache location.
- The geocache is small and suitable for small flat swappables only - diameter< 40 mm.
