Geocache Description:

An easy to find geocache that requires a very short walk.  Take a look at the artwork of the local artist who captured the many facets of our community while you are looking.

While the small community you are on the edges of seems small by the size of the ‘town’.  Its population is spread out in various directions and is larger than you might think at first glance.  What is now Smith once consisted of various small communities.  With the coming of the railway and highways slowly these communities combined into the central community of Smith,  which was where the train station was.  These places included Spurfield, Fawcett Lake, Moose Portage, Smoky Creek, Moose River, Otter Creek, Hondo, Mirror Landing, and Soto Landing among others.

Our area has been described by ‘outsiders’ as God’s Country and if you are an outdoor enthusiast, I am sure as you tour around looking for more caches, you will find out why!

Happy Geocaching!
