Situé sur le tracé d'une voie romaine, le village est mentionné pour la première fois lors d'un conflit entre petits-fils de Clovis.
En 577, Gontran, roi de Burgondie, sert de médiateur et juge entre son frère Chilpéric Ier, roi de Neustrie et son demi-frère, Sigebert Ier, roi d'Austrasie.
Cette rencontre historique se fait au Pont de Pierre.
Pour commémorer cet événement historique, une chapelle est édifiée.
Au xiie siècle, la chapelle est remplacée par une église dont le portail rappelle par ses sculptures cette rencontre de deux rois.
1858, jugée trop vétuste, l'église romane est démolie mais le portail du XII° siècle, du fait de la qualité de sa sculpture, en est soigneusement conservé pour être intégré à la nouvelle construction.

Located on the route of a Roman road, the village is mentioned for the first time in a conflict between small-son of Clovis .
In 577 , Gontran , king of Burgundy , mediate and judge between his brother Chilpéric I. king of neustrie and his half-brother, Sigebert I. king of Austrasia .
This historic meeting took place on the “Bridge of stone”.
To commemorate this historic event, a chapel was built.
In the 12th century, the chapel was replaced by a church whose portal sculptures recalls this two kings.
In 1858 , considered too dilapidated, the Romanesque church was demolished but the gate of the twelfth century, because of the quality of its sculpture, is carefully preserved to be incorporated into the new construction.
