The Wyn, Wynford Eagle
The “Wynford” part of Wynford Eagle is derived from an old Celtic river name for a tributary to the River Frome meaning “white” or “bright stream”. The stream, the Wyn, flows through the hamlet before joining the River Hooke to the north, which in turn eventually becomes the Frome in Maiden Newton.

The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and has started to spread fast.
There is a stats listing run by Bloodsock, so you can see how many Little Bridges you have found,
you can find it here: Little Bridges
If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will allocate a number.
To qualify as a Little Bridge it must be a footbridge too small for vehicles.
