A nice surprise
Turn off the main waymarked path from Ferreirola to Busquístar at the trailhead waypoint*, walking up the steep side path as far as it goes. I had walked by many times on the main path before exploring up here and finding it a very pleasant surprise.
Towards the end the path is steep and not good underfoot. The last few steps are likely to be wet. Do not attempt the cache if the stream is in spate. Otherwise, enjoy!
The cache is hidden on the right. I had to bring a rucksack full of rocks to hide it.
To get to the next cache, return to the main path and turn left towards Busquístar. It is waymarked red and white. Cross a patch of open rock and carry on in the same general direction to a fork in the path, where you take the left fork for Elefante 8 Roca de ejercicio / Exercise rock – Busquístar GC6FD5B or the right fork to go directly down to the river at the mill and Elefante 8.5 Molino Arabe GC6Q9JZ.
*There is now a sign pointing up the path, which makes it less of a surprise!

** This valley, the lower part of La Taha, is a particularly lovely area. It is presided over by the mountain across the river to the south, the proper name of which is 'Corona', but which looks rather like a sleeping elephant. Its head is to the left with a clearly marked ear - use your imagination! So this series is called 'Under the Elephant'. See the bookmark list Debajo el Elefante - Under the Elephant. It celebrates the several villages in the valley and with some pre-existing caches outlines a nice circular walk. The full walk takes about four hours, not including stops for refreshment and caching. Especially in hot weather you should carry water; there is none between a few hundred metres east of Ferreirola and Fondales. There are several shorter walks possible staying on the north side of the river.
