Geocache Description:

This will be the FIRST EVER SideTracked CITO event!

SATURDAY 22nd APRIL 10.30am - 2pm.

Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces.

Come and have a stunning walk along Brightlingsea's old 'Crab & Winkle' railway line, collecting litter as you go. Walk as little or as far as you would like along the scenic track with its ecologically interesting salt marsh environment. There is lots of wildlife and it is fantastic for birdwatching.

Caches on route include: Really SideTracked - Brightlingsea; Off the Prom; Seat with a view; The end of the line; The End of the Rainbow letterbox.

You may even find a message in a bottle as we did last year!

For those that want to walk the whole route the journey is approx 5 miles there and back along flat terrain. You can also make it into a circular walk linking with other caches in the area.

Meet at the published coordinates inside Mirror Millenium Garden anytime during the event hours to sign the logbook and pick up/drop off litterpickers and rubbish bags provided by Tendring District Council. Please bring your own gloves.

Parking is available on Promenade Way and in the beach car park.

If you join us, you'll also receive the first of this year's two CITO souvenirs.

Hope to see you there!
