Monthly Mid-Week Meet in Sussex # 98

From 7:00pm to 10:30pm on Wednesday 18th May 2016 at The New Inn, Hurstpierpoint

The New Inn
76 High Street
Hurstpierpoint
West Sussex
BN6 9RQ

I have booked the back room, so go in through the main door and walk along the passage way to the back. There is also a pleasant garden. The New Inn does food - the menu is here on www.thenewinnhurst.com . Please note down in your ‘Will Attend’ log reply if you plan to eat and I can let the pub know numbers. If you are coming by car please use the village car park in Trinity Road which is a two minute walk from the pub (see parking directions). There is virtually no parking in the very narrow High Street.

The building has been a pub on-and-off since the fifteenth century, but received its recent license in 1811 when the Royal Oak across the road in the building which now houses Hartley’s, had its license revoked due to continual ‘rowdyism’. The old timber construction of the building can be seen on the western exterior wall; the current cement facing was added around two hundred years ago.

These monthly mid-week cache events in Sussex have been running for some time now. We are into our seventh year, and they have become solid fixtures in the diaries of cachers across the South East. Attendances continue to grow. This meet is open to all cachers from near and far. New cachers are always particularly welcome. It's a great chance to put faces to names. If you need help with a hard to find cache, a technical problem or an unfathomable puzzle, there will almost certainly be someone who will be able to help you. So please don't be shy. Come along and introduce yourself. The events are scheduled to take place on the third Wednesday of each month, at different locations across Sussex. Each event is hosted by a different cacher or caching team. Anyone who feels the urge to host one of these events, please contact Tootsie's Trackers (aka Paul) through his profile.
