If you don't mind an uphill walk this is a great way to get up onto the moor. There used to be a few caches here which the owner has recently archived. Without them I wouldn't have followed the bridlepath which is now one of my favourite routes to get me up onto an area of moorland with some amazing views.
From the parking area follow the bridleway signs in the direction of the sand and grit road over the bridge. You may encounter a little traffic from the china clay works but it's more likely to be horseriders. Look out to the side of the path in the woodland; I saw a deer here! Carry on up through a canopy of pine trees and you'll be getting close.
Just off the road, alongside a stream is a small clearing in the trees.........
