UPDATED! When: Saturday the 7th of May 2016, from 6pm-6.20pm (street-level at given co-ords) and 6.30pm 'til 7.30pm (Sky Garden. BOOK IN ADVANCE IF 10 SPACES HAVE GONE!)
What: A gathering of cachers to talk caching, swap travel items and caching stories, and enjoy the area and that view as the sun sets. The location offers step-free wheelchair access and welcomes well behaved ASSISTANCE dogs only, and well-behaved geokids (up to 3 per adult, no unaccompanied under 16s).
Ancient caches: A theme of the Geolympix is old caches (Europe's 8th oldest/England's oldest, GC171, is close to it, as are several others from 2001), which made this spot in London, near several 2001 caches, an easy choice. Also, it's very cool!
Sky Garden Terms and Conditions to follow
Also: This event is part-inspired by London's Vertical Limit Extreme Event: Tower 42 which was held in April 2010 at 156m above London.
Why: The Geolympix Countdown cache events are international roadshow meets to highlight Britain and Ireland's first National Geocaching Awards, a caching film festival, Europe's 9th oldest cache (England's 2nd oldest, UK's 3rd oldest) plus the UK's oldest Puzzle cache, our AlphaBet You Can't challenge and much, much more!
At this meet you'll have a chance to hear about our plans for this July's Geolympix Mega which is being held at Ashridge Estate, Berkhamsted, Herts, UK (under 30miles/50Km NW of here/London) on July 31st 2016. PLUS! The Geolympix is on the way from London to The North Wales Mega and THE GPS MAZE, being held the weekend after!
