An area popular with dog walkers and muggles, there are some beautiful walks in the woodland, especially if you follow the brook west to the waterfall.
Not suitable for buggies or wheelchairs, and please note that there is no parking at Waghill. Park in Shortwood or Newmarket and enjoy the walk beside the brook.
GPS signal may well be hopeless when the trees are in full leaf, so I've given a detailed clue in the hint section which should help.
Enjoy the cache - using one of the containers that was a birthday present from my son - and please replace exactly as found.
NB: when placed the bridge was clear of the water with a bit of a gap underneath the planking: next day after a lot of overnight rain, it was more of a ford than a bridge. Hopefully the cache is safe, and it adds to the fun :)
Congrats to graham&linda, FTF at 08.00 :)
The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast.
If you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge: to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles.
