Palm? Nope Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

KCSearcher: Out on an 8-hour, 10-minute, 157.4-mile (2.7 of that on foot) trip to hide caches for my “Man on the Moon, July 20, 1969 - 50 years later” event and along the way, maintained some I own. Hid 9 caches (placed) and checked on 4. On the maintenance run, 4 could not be located while 0 were still there. Checked on this one at 11:22 AM. Not to be found here. Palm tree was not to be found there so the theme has been ruined. Time for this one to go.

Geocache Description:

This is 1 of several caches that were given away as FTF prizes at the “FTF on Feb 29. How did this year's experiment do?” event. For those attendees that received this as a prize, they got at least a 24 hour head start on those that didn’t attend the event. The prize winners were instructed to sign the log in the “Pre-Publication FTFer(s)” space (not available on the nanos).

However, for those FTF Hounds that were not able to attend, you too can be FTF on this cache. All you need to do is find the cache and be first to sign in the “Post-Publication FTFer(s)” space (not available on the nanos). As an FTF Hound myself, I sometimes find it discouraging to see a cache published thinking I have a chance at the FTF only to find out later that it was given away as a prize at an event. I actually think it’s fine to give an FTF opportunity prize away. However, it would be nice for those that didn’t attend to also get an FTF chance. So, in that spirit, and as the Cache Owner, I am allowing FTF’s to also go to those that did not attend.

Why here? I looked for available gaps within 10 miles of the event that conformed to the guidelines for listing a cache.
