Geocache Description:

Another in the very popular series of Church Micros started by Sadexploration.

Forest Hill, Sydenham and Crystal Palace housed one of the major German communities in London, composed mostly of wealthy merchants, with a sprinkling of musicians and artists. The German Evangelical Church was founded in temporary accommodation in 1875, and the church was built in 1883. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was the pastor from 1933 to 1935 and the church was named after him at the end of World War II. It was bombed during the war, and rebuilt and has been recently used by the Ichthus Fellowship

The German Church has absolutely stunning stained glass windows when looking from inside out and has been used on Songs of Praise, the BBC TV programme. The church isn’t usually open to public but if you get the opportunity to go inside, you should.

Parking is available on the street next to the church for a quick cache grab.

You are looking for a magnetic nano. It’s an easy cache and dash but please use stealth.

Please don’t look for this cache after dark using a torch!

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
