Geocache Description:

This micro cache is smaller than a 35mm film container. It is magnetic. Please bring something with which to scrawl your name.

This small submarine, the "Explorer," was designed by Milford resident Simon Lake, the "Father of the Modern Submarine." It was built in 1933 and was used for salvage and deep sea exploration. It was on display for many years at a site near its present location before spending a number of years at the submarine base in Groton, where it was restored. It subsequently returned to Milford and has been displayed in this much more prominent spot since then.

For more information on Simon Lake and his submarine designs, go to www.simonlake.com.

It is not necessary to climb on the submarine to find this cache. Discretion and care may be necessary to maintain its security.

Please hide it EXACTLY as you found it. This will help protect it from weather and the prying eyes of muggles.
