The Brim Brook is a very typical tinners stream with the surrounding land showing the parallel marks caused by tin streaming - an early method of extracting cassiterite which is the main source of tin. Nearly opposite the cache is a tinner's hut with another one further downstream.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This cache is located within the Okehampton Military Range where live firing occurs. You must check out the Firing Notices before entering the range. DO NOT ENTER THE RANGE WHEN THE RED FLAGS ARE FLYING. Never pick up any objects, they may be unexploded devices.
