This church community began inauspiciously in 1934 when the Bishop of Chichester gave permission for services to be held in a storeroom at the Highfield Dairy on Findon Road. At that time, Findon Valley was a rural area, part of the Parish of FIndon with very few dwellings. The small band of churchgoers then set about raising money for the building of a permanent church, on land purchased for £500 by the Sussex Church Builders.
A dual purpose building, now the Church Hall, was opened in 1936. The dedication to All Saints was chosen by ballot of church members in 1939. Funds were raised to build the present church after the second world war and it was consecrated on the 22nd February 1956. It was designed in a traditional style by the architect L. Keir Hett, and furnished by local craftsmen. Findon was combined with Clapham and Patching in the 1980s, and Findon Valley became a Conventional District with a priest-in-charge and achieved full parochial status, with a vicar, in December 1989.
