Geocache Description:

This event is offered to both novice & experienced geocachers.  Parks & Recreation and The Ketchikan Public Library are hosting this informal presentation in hopes of educating more people about the exciting and enjoyable sport of Geocaching.  After the presentation we will walk across the 3rd Avenue Bypass to get a few caches.

We will go over the following:

* What is Geocaching * What makes a geocache * How do I find a geocache * What to do after you have found the geocache *

What you will need:

A GPS or a smartphone with the geocaching.com app

It is advised that you log onto geocaching.com and create a free account so you have a geocaching name for the event.

WHEN: March 19th from Noon-2pm (rain or shine)

WHERE: Ketchikan Public Library

AGES: All (14 & under with a parent)

For you experienced geocachers - To earn a smiley for this event we need some experienced cachers to help guide the new cachers around the area after the presentation.
