This memorial is a statue of soldier resting on reversed rifle with head bowed standing on a pedestal. His cap bears the badge of the Durham Light Infantry.
Underneath, at the top of the main panel, scrolls and cherubs are carved in half relief on each face. The pedestal flares gently down to two further bases. The whole rests in a small walled area with iron railings. The dedication is carried on the front of the pedestal.
