You will need a single "AA" battery to get the logbook.
No space for trade, unfortunately.
A swiveling cover has been placed over the opening in the bottom to deter residents (spiders) from making their home in there. This must be swiveled open before beginning to solve the cache puzzle.

1) Swivel the cover out first
2) Solve the puzzle and sign the log
3) Make sure the log container doesn't catch when going back, the tree is not ideally level so this could be an issue

There is a convenient point to pull off the road as you round the bend, on the runway side of the road. A fairly new path/road has been cleared from this point aswell, so getting to the container should be quite easy.
